Tesla FSD is subscription-only in the UK and Europe. One-time purchases ended on 21 May 2026. The price is £99 a month in the UK and €99 a month in euro markets, with a £49 rate for owners who already have Enhanced Autopilot (EAP).
Two things have changed since May. Tesla has renamed the product in Europe, and eight EU countries now have approval. The UK isn’t one of them, so paying £99 here does not unlock the full feature.

Owners who bought FSD outright before 21 May keep it. Everyone else subscribes.
For scale: the old UK price of £6,800 is about 69 months of subscription, just under six years. In euro markets, €7,500 is about 76 months at €99.
Why FSD is now called Tesla Assisted Driving in Europe
By 8 October 2026, Tesla’s European websites, UK included, had dropped the Full Self-Driving name for Tesla Assisted Driving. Old /fsd links now redirect to a /tesla-assisted-driving page. Germany’s transport ministry said on 6 October that Tesla offered the new name after the ministry called “FSD” somewhat misleading. We covered the details in Why Tesla Is Renaming FSD in Europe.
Tesla doesn’t use the abbreviation TAD. We write FSD (TAD) so the page makes sense whichever name you search for. It is the same supervised driver assistance system. The driver stays responsible.
The rename didn’t change the euro price. The Dutch page still said “Abonnement verkrijgbaar voor € 99 per maand” when we checked on 8 October. Tesla’s page now lists the eight approved countries, Electrek reported on 9 October.
Where FSD (TAD) works in Europe
Eight EU countries have national approval: the Netherlands, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Croatia, Lithuania, Slovenia and Estonia. Croatia, on 29 September 2026, was the latest. Approval covers eligible HW4 cars. HW3 cars don’t have it in Europe yet; see our FSD v14 Lite for HW3 page.
Everywhere else in Europe, including Germany, France and the UK, the full feature isn’t available. The EU’s TCMV discussed it on 6 October 2026 without a vote. December 2026 is the earliest EU-wide vote. Track each country on the EU tracker.
What a UK FSD (TAD) subscription gets you today
The UK hasn’t approved FSD (TAD). The Vehicle Certification Agency said in a 9 October 2026 FOI reply that it has not undertaken any type approval activity for Tesla FSD. It said in September that Dutch approvals don’t apply automatically in Great Britain.
So a UK subscription today buys the driver assistance features Tesla already sells here, such as Autosteer, lane changes, Autopark, Summon and Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control, within UK rules. Supervised city driving is not part of it.
The UK price is £99 a month. Tesla’s UK website shows it as of 11 October 2026.
EAP owners: the £49 rate
If your car already has Enhanced Autopilot, Tesla’s May 2026 pricing let you subscribe for £49 a month instead of £99. The old one-time EAP to FSD upgrade is gone with the rest of the one-time pricing.
We haven’t been able to confirm the euro EAP rate, or that £49 still applies after the rename. If you see a different price in the app, tell us.
When will FSD (TAD) be available in the UK?
There is no date. The UK needs its own approval after Tesla applies. This site’s own estimate is a supervised target of H1 2027, which is a target, not a decision. Separately, from 7 January 2027 the Automated Vehicles Act 2024 restricts terms such as “self-driving” to authorised vehicles in Great Britain. Follow it on our United Kingdom page.
