What I asked: I asked for the DfT's information on recognising the Dutch (RDW) type approval for FSD Supervised in the UK.
What they said: They withheld it under section 35(1)(a), the exemption for policy that's still being formed. I can ask for an internal review until 25 November 2026.
What this means: The DfT holds information on this. It just won't share it yet.

What I asked: I asked for the VCA's communications with the Dutch RDW about FSD Supervised.
What they said: Not held. They sent a covering letter with some context: Dutch (RDW) approvals don't apply automatically in Great Britain, and the wider Automated Vehicles Act framework is intended for the second half of 2027.
What this means: The VCA holds nothing on this with the RDW. And the Dutch approval doesn't carry over to GB.

What I asked: I asked what regulatory basis Tesla's FSD demos in the UK rely on.
What they said: No Vehicle Special Orders (VSOs), exemptions or permits have been issued.
What this means: The demos aren't running on any special permission from the VCA.

What I asked: I asked whether Tesla had applied to the VCA for approval of FSD Supervised.
What they said: No type approval activity. They withheld information about talks with Tesla under section 43 (commercial interests).
What this means: No approval work had started at the VCA, but they hold information about talks with Tesla that they won't share.

What they said: No authorisation has been given, and there's no pilot.
What this means: As of April 2026, there's no unsupervised Tesla pilot in London.
