Poland Tesla FSD: is TAD available right now?

No. There is no customer release in Poland.

In April 2026 the Ministry of Infrastructure told a reader they were not planning an immediate acceptance of the Dutch temporary type approval. Any decision under Article 39 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858 would need test results. Those documents had not yet reached the TDT director.

Elektrowoz published that reply on 17 April 2026. So the tracker still says Requires Local Testing.

Tesla have kept talking to TDT since then. That's correspondence and meetings. It isn't an approval.

Who decides in Poland

Transportowy Dozór Techniczny, TDT, are the type approval authority. They sit under the Ministry of Infrastructure. My regulators page lists homologacja@tdt.gov.pl as their homologation contact.

The Dutch RDW granted a provisional approval on 10 April 2026, under Article 39 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858. Another member state can accept that for its own roads, in writing.

Poland haven't done that. The ministry said acceptance is not automatic, and that local testing comes first.

So the FSD approval Poland still need is either a national recognition of the Dutch file, or the wider EU vote. Neither has landed yet.

What changes for owners

Nothing yet.

Polish owners can't activate TAD (FSD). That includes owners whose cars already have the hardware.

Recognition, or an EU yes vote, would sort the legal side. Then Tesla still have to switch it on for eligible cars and software versions. They haven't said when for Poland.

You stay responsible for the car. TAD (FSD) is driver assistance.

How Poland could vote at the TCMV

Poland have not published a TCMV voting position.

The April ministry reply was about national recognition of the Dutch file. It says nothing about how Poland will vote in Brussels.

I suspect Poland will wait and see rather than lead the room. That's my guess, not a published position.

An EU wide approval needs a qualified majority in the committee. They last discussed it on 6 October 2026 and didn't vote. December is the earliest.

I'll update this page the day Poland recognise it, or the day the committee vote.
