FSD Transfer in Europe no deadline

FSD Transfer in Europe: All the Details

Tesla is preparing to launch FSD in Europe soon, and owners who bought Full Self-Driving years ago now have greater flexibility. Recent updates on Tesla support pages mean transfers stay fully permitted across the continent. There are no delivery deadline pressures on you anymore.

This shift brings real relief for people in the UK, Italy, Germany, and across the EU. You can plan your upgrade on your schedule while you wait for official approvals.

What Changed for FSD Transfers in Europe?

Tesla quietly updated country-specific pages recently. The old rule that forced delivery by March 31, 2026, disappeared from German and Italian sites but remains on US sites. Now, the only requirement is for orders and deliveries starting from July 18, 2025, onward. No upper cutoff date appears anymore.

This change keeps options open exactly when many owners need them most. FSD is still supervised and waits for full rollout, but your purchased capability can move to a newer vehicle without any hurry.

Why did Tesla drop the strict deadline?

European regulators are moving more slowly on approvals than in some other markets. Tesla likely saw that a hard cutoff made little sense here, and owners paid full price for FSD outright back in 2022 or earlier. Removing pressure shows respect for that investment.

How Does the Transfer Process Work in Europe?

The steps are straightforward. Tesla handles most of the work once you qualify. You simply request the move before you pick up your new car.

Step-by-step guide to complete the transfer:

  1. First, check your eligibility in the Tesla app or account.
  2. Confirm that both cars link to the same account.
  3. Then inform Tesla of your intent during the ordering process.
  4. After delivery, the system generally moves FSD to the new vehicle quickly, usually within 72 hours.

What eligibility rules must you follow?

You need to own the current car outright for at least 72 hours after new delivery. Leased cars and company vehicles do not qualify. Pre-owned or damaged cars are excluded, too. The new car must arrive on or after July 2025.

  • Check your Tesla account for the FSD purchase record
  • Make sure both vehicles share the same login
  • Contact support early to sign the agreement
  • Plan delivery only after you confirm everything
