Tesla FSD Supervised Approved in Belgium: Minister Annick De Ridder Signs Approval
Tesla FSD Supervised has been approved in Belgium. Flemish Mobility Minister Annick De Ridder announced on 10 June 2026 that she has signed the official approval, marking Belgium as the latest European country to clear the supervised autonomous driving system for use on public roads.
Minister Annick De Ridder’s Announcement
In a post on X, the Flemish Mobility Minister gave Tesla owners and the community the first look at the decision:
“The @Tesla community has been keeping a close eye on the approval for FSD technology on our Flemish and Belgian roads for quite some time now.
As a token of appreciation for your unwavering interest (and encouragement 😉), here’s the exclusive: I have just signed the approval! 🚘
This decision will now go to our homologation service; they will notify @RDWnl of the approval. Flanders embraces innovation!”

History: From Flanders Testing to Full Approval
Belgium’s path to approval followed the successful fast-track model pioneered by the Netherlands. Tesla first conducted extensive supervised testing on Flemish public roads, completing the required 5,000 km benchmark earlier in June 2026. The testing dossier was then submitted to Minister De Ridder’s administration for review and advice on homologation.
Because mobility and road regulations in Belgium are largely handled at the regional level, Flanders took the lead on authorizing and evaluating the supervised FSD tests. The federal FOD Mobiliteit (Federal Public Service for Mobility and Transport) coordinates the overall type approval process. The approval leverages the Dutch RDW’s provisional European type approval under UN Regulation 171, allowing Belgium to move more quickly than a full independent evaluation would require.
Today’s signing by Minister De Ridder completes the key political and administrative step. The homologation service will now formally notify the RDW in the Netherlands.
When Will FSD Supervised Be Available to Download?
Based on similar approvals in the Netherlands and Lithuania, Tesla owners in Belgium should not have to wait long.
In the Netherlands (the first EU country to grant full national type approval in April 2026), eligible owners began receiving the FSD Supervised software update within weeks. Lithuania recognized the Dutch approval in May 2026 and saw rapid activation on compatible vehicles shortly afterward.
Given this precedent, Belgian Tesla owners with HW4 vehicles can realistically expect an over-the-air software update enabling FSD Supervised in the coming days or weeks, once the administrative notification to the RDW is complete and Tesla pushes the release. HW3 support typically follows later.
FSD Supervised Subscription Pricing in Belgium
Tesla offers FSD Supervised in Europe via a monthly subscription model. Pricing in Belgium is expected to align with other European markets, typically around €99 per month (exact local pricing and any promotions should be confirmed in the Tesla app or on tesla.com once the feature is rolled out to a vehicle).
The option to purchase FSD outright has been discontinued for new transactions in the EU following policy changes earlier in 2026. Existing owners who previously purchased FSD may have transfer or subscription options depending on their original purchase terms. Once FSD Supervised is available in Belgium, owners will be able to subscribe directly through the vehicle’s software or the Tesla mobile app.
What This Means for Tesla Owners in Belgium
With approval secured, Belgian drivers will soon be able to experience the same supervised autonomy features already live in the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, and Denmark. FSD Supervised can handle many driving tasks on motorways, urban streets, and complex intersections, but the driver must remain attentive and ready to intervene at all times.
Real-world data from the Netherlands has shown significant safety benefits, with FSD Supervised vehicles involved in 3.5 times fewer collisions than human-driven cars. Belgian owners can look forward to these advanced capabilities while regulators continue to monitor performance.
